Cogress Confirms New Appointments, Nicole Bremner and Daniel Levene

Cogress has appointed East-Eight founder and property entrepreneur Nicole Bremner as an Independent Director. In a move indicative of the alternative finance company’s ambitious growth plans, it also moves Accenture alumnus Daniel Levene to Head of Structured Finance.

Bremner will be taking a seat on the Non-Executive Board, overseeing and advising on Cogress’s soon to launch Innovative Finance ISA. It is a role she is uniquely positioned to fill, Bremner has held consulting and analyst positions with Capital, AXA, and Goldman Sachs. Most recently she has dominated London residential property as the founder of two property development companies; East Eight and London Central Developments.

Levene moves from Head of Analysis, where he has driven the development of the Cogress due diligence process, to Head of Structured Lending. He will oversee the Origination and Market Analysis teams, taking the helm on the lending side of the business as Cogress gears up for the next stage of its growth.

Bremner says of her new appointment: “As a developer, I understand the challenges of securing development financing – particularly in the current climate – and I am proud to be joining the advisory team of Cogress, a lender built for SME developers by SME developers. I’m excited to get back to my roots in financial services, developing and launching an exciting new suite of products for property investors that will increase the development finance products available to developers.”

“Cogress is moving into our fifth year of operating, and we’re excited to be in a position to increase our lending products, deploy more property development financing, and expand our investor community,” said founding CEO Tal Orly. “The team we have built has been instrumental in our growth to date, and there is no one better placed than Daniel to head up the lending side of our business as we move out of startup phase. We are also delighted to welcome on board Nicole, who’s experience in both property development and financial services makes her the perfect fit for our non-exec team.”

Cogress is an award-winning alternative finance platform that provides property development finance to SME developers, raised from a community of HNW and self-certified sophisticated investors. A UK first, Cogress has committed £175m, to 55 UK developments with a GDV of £1.1bn. It has £60m to deploy in property development financing to mixed use and residential developments in 2019.
