Daniel leads our Analysis team, his role is to oversee Cogress’ investment strategy, investment committees and due diligence processes. The bulk of his day-to-day role is to work with his team to ensure that those due diligence processes are best in class by being thorough, timely, repeatable and effective in enabling management-decision-making. His expertise has helped give Cogress a definite edge in choosing which projects to underwrite over their competitors.
As his job title suggests, the role requires a fiercely analytical mind. Dan requires his team to examine every aspect of a potential deal, assessing all possible risks, subsequently working with the portfolio management team to plan how to mitigate them. He’s helped by an encyclopaedic knowledge of both financial products and services (from his former roles at Investment Banks), and a strong knowledge of construction (from his background in Civil Engineering).
Many investors seek out Cogress because they want to build a diversified property investment portfolio whilst knowing that each opportunity has been thoroughly vetted. Dan and his team are there to ensure that this is the case and that every projects has been scrutinised for risk and are deemed viable investment opportunities.
Dan’s background is in investment banking. Over the course of 10 years he gained invaluable experience working at Credit Suisse, Barclays Wealth and latterly at Accenture, where he was in charge of initiatives that included defining target operating models, regulatory change, and merger integration.
He has a degree in Civil Engineering w/ Business Management from the University of Birmingham.
